Good Tunes - What I'm Listening to This Month (#1)
I am somewhat of a music junkie.
And, I don't fit any mold.
I am a classically trained vocalist and pianist, but I love a good techno beat.
I can fall asleep listening to Debussy or Cold Play.
I don't care if it is popular (and everyone likes it) or if it is from an obscure artist.
When it comes to music, I am a soul-searcher. I search for how a song moves my emotions and moods; how it communicates - both lyrically, musically, and rhythmically.
So, for those of you out there who love to try new tunes, here is what I've been listening to this month!
- Geronimo by Sheppard (This is my family's current dance in the living room/ in the car with windows down; hair blowing song!)
- Riptide by Vance Joy (love the term "Left-Hand Man")
- Budapest by George Ezra (just makes me happy)
- Work Song by Hozier (for the true romantic)
- Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol (an oldie by a goodie)
- Lay Me Down by Sam Smith (no one can argue, this guy's set of pipes is phenomenal)
- Glitter in the Air by Pink (I sang this at a recent concert, and it's my current favorite to sing)
- Sailor Man by Ewert and the Two Dragons (popular Estonian band)
- Touch the Sky by Hillsong United
- Prince of Peace by Hillsong United
- I Surrender All sung by Jadon Lavik
- Come Thou Fount sung by David Crowder
- Look How He Lifted Me by Elevation Worship
- I Believe that Your Love Never Fails by River Valley Church
- Your Promises by Elevation Worship
- Wave After Wave by River Valley Church
- My constant playlist staple - Sky Full of Stars by Coldplay. You can read the poem I wrote about that song by clicking here.
